There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope…  (Hosea 2:15)

The prophet Hosea delivered his message to a nation that had been unfaithful to God, and as such was headed for certain disaster. Hosea warned the people of their condition both with his words and his life. Yet, in the middle of his oracle of judgment, there is a surprising glimmer of hope. The LORD speaks through the prophet and says, “There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope…” (Hosea 2:15, NIV).

Creating a Life Anthem: More than a Song and Dance

In Exodus 15 we find the first song in the Bible. This “Song of Moses” was composed just after the Children of Israel left their slavery in Egypt. They had crossed the Red Sea and escaped their enemies through the miraculous intervention of God, and this song celebrates their deliverance. It also reveals timeless principles for travelling life’s journey and arriving victoriously at the destination.

Elements of a Complete Life

Then [Isaac] went up from there to Beersheba. And the Lord appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham’s sake.” So he built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord, and he pitched his tent there; and there Isaac’s servants dug a well  (Genesis 26:23-25, NKJV).

On Sunday morning, June 25th, Pastor D. G. Hargrove taught on the Elements of a Complete Life. He pointed out three things that Isaac did when he came to Beersheba. These three elements are key to having a complete and blessed life.

Starting Points that Finish Well

North Cities’ first worship services of 2012 were dynamic! Both the Garland and McKinney campuses were full.  The worship was powerful, and the altars were full.  The first service of the year included a baptism, and the Holy Spirit was also poured out in the Children’s Ministry.  On Sunday evening in Garland, the church shared communion and remembered the Lord’s sacrifice that purchased our freedom and forgiveness.

Pastor Hargrove set the tone for the New Year with a message entitled “Starting Points that Finish Well.” The message outlined five fundamentals for living that will ensure a successful finish:

The Church on Course – Guideposts for Today

On Sunday morning, November 27th, Pastor D. G. Hargrove presented a lesson entitled, “The Church on Course.”  Drawing parallels from the account of the birth of the Church in the Book of Acts, Pastor Hargrove identified seven guideposts that will keep believers on course.  If the Church will remain true to these founding principles, she will continue to be the force so desperately needed in the world today.
