Worship Ministries

Jesus told the woman at the well in Samaria, "... the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:23-24). At North Cities, we endeavor to be the kind of worshipers God is seeking. Our worship services are filled with heart-felt expressions of praise and adoration as we sing, pray and rejoice in God’s goodness and grace.

Connecting People to God through Worship

North Cities’ Choir, Chorale, Musicians, and Praise Singers lead the congregation into the presence of the Lord through praise and worship. As we experience the joy of God’s presence, we respond and participate in worship according to the Biblical pattern.

We invite you to experience the power of Spirit-filled worship services at North Cities. We are passionate about our worship, and would love for you to join with us as we worship in spirit and in truth, making His praise glorious!

Why We Worship

We sing and play music because Ephesians 5:19 says to worship “in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,” and Psalm 150 says to praise God with musical instruments. We worship with a joyful noise because Psalm 66:1 says, “Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands.”

We have teaching, preaching, and spiritual gifts because 1 Corinthians 14:26 says, “Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation” (NKJV).

We raise our hands

We raise our hands because 1 Timothy 2:8 says, “I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands.”

We clap

We clap our hands because Psalm 47:1 says, “O clap your hands, all ye people.”

We sing

We sing and play music because Ephesians 5:19 says to worship “in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,” and Psalm 150 says to praise God with musical instruments.

We dance

We dance in worship because Psalm 149:3 says, “Let them praise his name in the dance.”

We pray

We pray aloud because the early church “lifted up their voice to God with one accord” in prayer (Acts 4:24).
