Important Update: Expanded In-Person Services

In coordination with Texas’ continued response to COVID-19, North Cities is working to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all who attend our in-person services, while also continuing to offer on-line worship opportunities.

We continue to encourage the at-risk population to stay home and join us online.  Services are broadcast to our Web Site, Facebook Page, and YouTube Channel on Sundays at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, as well as on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM.  Archived services are also available for viewing at any time on our Web Site.

Currently, in-person worship services are offered on Sundays at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, and on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM.  As resources become available and conditions improve, we will evaluate the possibility of adding additional services.

All in-person services are conducted with the following recommended safety protocols:

  • Everyone should follow DSHS guidelines for best health practices when arriving, attending, and leaving in-person worship services.
  • Anyone seeking to maintain strict “social distancing” while attending services, may signal their desire with red stickers provided for that purpose. All members are encouraged to respect the comfort level of others when greeting and conversing, ensuring that North Cities remains a safe and welcoming place for all.
  • Seating is arranged so that families may worship together and maintain safe distance between the family units. Enhanced cleaning and sanitation occurs before each service.
  • North Cities Kids offers in-person Children’s Ministry on Sundays during the 11:00 AM service. In order to maintain the recommended safety protocols, Children’s Ministry is held in RM 100, and is limited to children ages 5-11.  An activity bag is available for children ages 3-4, in order to keep them connected and engaged as they attend the main worship service with their parents.
  • North Cities Youth meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM in RM 100. Recommended protocols for hygiene and “social distancing” are observed.
  • Members are encouraged to continue to give online, or to mail or drop-off offerings at the church office. Baskets are also available for members to give as they enter or leave in-person services.

Important Update: Church this Sunday

North Cities is committed to making our church a safe, secure place for you and your family to worship.  Due to the ongoing concern about the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), we believe it is prudent to exercise caution in a number of ways.

We will have our regularly-scheduled morning worship services at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM this Sunday, March 15.  In order to accommodate our enhanced cleaning procedures and reduce the risk of potential exposure, we are canceling the 6:00 PM evening service.

The spread of illnesses like the flu and the coronavirus is something we take seriously.  In addition to the strong safety measures we normally follow, we’re taking the following extra precautions during this time to help keep you and your family safe and healthy:

  • We are sanitizing our classrooms and toys after every service. Additionally, we’ll be wiping down high-traffic areas like door handles and bathroom counters.
  • We are providing hand-sanitizer throughout the building. As these items are in short supply, we would encourage members to bring their own hand sanitizer in the event that we run out and are unable to purchase more.
  • We are closely following news from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about best practices to contain the spread of the coronavirus. We’ll continue to update our policies and procedures with the latest information and communicate with you as necessary.  We are also complying with requirements of Dallas County regarding Community Gatherings.

Of course, we need your help too. Here’s what you can do to keep yourself and others safe and healthy:

  • Avoid skin contact. While we love giving hugs, handshakes, and high-fives, try giving an elbow-bump, a big smile, or a friendly wave instead.
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth with your sleeve or a tissue.
  • Wash your hands often in warm water for a minimum of twenty seconds and encourage your entire family to do the same. Our volunteers will ask children to wash their hands if they visit the restroom while they’re in our care.
  • If you’ve been exposed to a person with the coronavirus or have recently traveled out of the country where you might have been exposed, please take a couple of weeks off from attending church.
  • If you or your family members are experiencing, or have recently experienced, symptoms associated with the flu or the common cold (fever, persistent cough, headache, chills, or unexplained rash), we ask that you stay home from church for a couple of weeks.
  • If you are in the high-risk group because of age or because of a serious long-term health problem, we ask that you stay home from church for a couple of weeks.

If you need to stay home from church, please join us online at northcities.org/live. There you can watch a broadcast of the worship service, submit a prayer request, and give your tithes and offerings.  We want everyone to stay connected to what the Lord is doing in our church.

During this unprecedented time, we remember the sure promises of our faithful God.  “He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear…’” (Hebrews 13:5-6).  We trust in God’s provision and protection as we continue to serve His Kingdom purposes in a world desperately in need of hope and grace.
