Big Idea

God graces His church through two special ways: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Grace is at work through these experiences to bring people into a reconciled relationship with God and to gift them to live out their Kingdom purpose.

Application / Reflection

  • Write: Reflect on the way grace continues throughout your life as a disciple. How have you seen grace’s footprints from before you experienced the New Birth until the present? How can you intentionally receive grace through living-out your baptism and the Lord’s Supper? What is God graciously gifting you to do right now?
  • Pray: Begin with a prayer of deep gratitude for the ways you have experienced grace through the years. Ask for wisdom and spiritual insight to see how God is gracing you to grace others. Listen for the Spirit’s leading. Finally, pray for the courage to reorder your thoughts, emotions, and actions so that they are in-line with the current waves of grace in your life.
  • Share: Discuss ways that participation in public baptism services can help all disciples remember and live out their own baptism. How can your answers help you to explain the ongoing role of
