A Former Muslim’s Journey to Jesus: The Faith Story of Mafaz Sadoun Guilliod
Her story is not just a testimony—it’s a modern-day miracle. With honesty, courage, and deep humility, Mafaz shares how the God she longed to know met her in ways she never expected. Her journey—marked by prayer, revelation, Scripture, and profound personal loss—powerfully reveals that when someone seeks truth with their whole heart, Jesus comes running. In the North Cities area of Dallas, in communities from Collin County to Dallas County, her story reminds us that God is drawing people from every culture, every background, and every nation to Himself.
When God Writes a Story, Every Detail Matters
On April 14, 2024, God orchestrated a day that changed everything for Mafaz—a day she describes as designed perfectly for her soul.
She prayed.
She questioned.
She wrestled.
But she sought truth with sincerity—and Jesus met her.
Raised in a devout Muslim home by a highly respected imam, her entire life had been shaped by faith, tradition, community, identity, and culture. But beneath the structure of her upbringing was a heart that deeply loved God and desperately wanted to know Him as He truly is.
Her prayer was simple:
“God, show me the truth. Whatever leads me to heaven—I will follow.”
And God answered.
A Childhood Shaped by Faith, Honor, and Devotion
Growing up in a traditional Islamic home in North Dallas—with roots in Jordan and Syria—Mafaz loved her religion. She prayed five times a day. She fasted every year during Ramadan. She wore hijab by choice at age twelve. She believed Islam was the only way to heaven.
Her life was filled with reverence for God.
Her family was her entire world.
And everything she knew reinforced the identity she carried.
But God was preparing her for something greater—long before she knew it.
He placed Christians around her:
-
A husband who loved Jesus but never pressured her
-
A Christian coworker whose Bible was always open
-
A mother-in-law full of patience and wisdom
-
Sermons she “accidentally” overheard
-
Scriptures that kept resurfacing
God was drawing her.
Gently. Patiently. Consistently.
The Question That Changed Everything
One day in 2022, after a conversation that unsettled her, she brought her fears and frustrations to her husband. He listened and simply said:
“Why put limitations on God? If He is God, He can come however He wants—even in human form.”
This sentence cracked open a door she never expected to walk through.
That same day, she prayed—face to the ground—and begged God to reveal the truth. Her fear was not Christianity. Her fear was missing heaven.
That night, God answered her prayer through a prophetic message given in church—speaking directly to the deepest parts of her heart:
“Set aside what you’ve been taught your whole life. My ways are higher than your ways… Seek Me with all your heart.”
It was the beginning of everything.
Two Years of Wrestling, Revealing, and Relentless Pursuit
For two years, Mafaz sought the truth with an intensity only God could produce.
She read the Bible.
She asked endless questions.
She watched debates.
She studied the Trinity.
She battled misconceptions.
She cried.
She prayed.
She dug deeper and deeper.
And everywhere she turned—Scripture, sermons, people, timing—God answered her questions with precision.
She discovered:
-
Jesus is not a prophet—He is God.
-
Salvation is not earned—it is given by grace.
-
The Trinity is not polytheism—it is God in perfect unity.
-
Good works matter, but they do not save.
-
Faith produces obedience, not the other way around.
-
The Bible and the Qur’an differ most drastically on the identity of Jesus—because everything hinges on Him.
She came to the conclusion she could no longer deny:
Everything pointed to Jesus as the one and only God.
The Day She Knew — and the Moment She Surrendered
On April 14, 2024, she read the book of Philippians for the first time—and felt God speaking to her.
Then she went to church.
The sermon matched the revelation she had received years earlier.
The wording was exact.
The timing perfect.
The presence overwhelming.
She tried to leave the church building… but physically could not.
She felt pulled back—undeniably, lovingly, powerfully.
She returned to the altar, confessed Jesus as Lord, and made the decision that would cost her everything but gain her eternity.
That evening, she was baptized in the name of Jesus.
When she stepped outside afterward, creation itself felt different:
The wind.
The sunlight.
The birds.
The sky.
God wasn’t just around her—He was in her.
The Cost Was Great — But Christ Was Greater
It took nearly a year to tell her family.
When she did, the consequences were heartbreaking:
-
Loss of relationship
-
Accusations
-
Threats
-
Rejection
-
Deep emotional pain
But her love for Jesus outweighed her fear.
Her desire for eternity outweighed temporary suffering.
Her peace came from God’s presence, not people’s approval.
She said:
“I cannot unsee what I have seen. I cannot unhear what God has spoken.”
And though her family turned away, Jesus drew nearer still.
A New Identity — Loved, Led, and Held by Jesus
Today, Mafaz walks with Jesus in a way she never thought possible:
-
She hears Him through Scripture
-
She recognizes His voice in moments of worship
-
She sees His guidance through sermons
-
She feels His presence in church
-
She witnesses miracles of timing and confirmation weekly
She discovered a relationship with God—not distant, but intimate.
Not formal, but living.
Not ritual, but revelation.
Her testimony echoes a truth that resonates across Collin County, Dallas County, Plano, Garland, Richardson, and beyond:
Jesus is still revealing Himself—beautifully, personally, powerfully—to those who seek Him.
Her Prayer for the World — and for Those Still Searching
Mafaz ends her testimony not with bitterness, but with intercession:
-
For her family
-
For Muslims worldwide
-
For anyone afraid of the truth
-
For every person searching for hope
-
For unity, love, and bold obedience
Her prayer is simple:
“May we all have the courage to seek the truth—no matter the cost.”
This is her story.
But it is also a prophecy.
Thousands more are coming.
Jesus is revealing Himself.
And the harvest is ready.
