ACTS Drug Education in Dallas County, Texas

National Recovery Month

In May 2013, the Lord opened a new door for the North Cities team. The Dallas County Juvenile Correctional Department invited the team to work with their young people. The A.C.T.S ministry team accepted the challenge to focus on a new age group, and the challenges they face with drug abuse and peer pressure.

Here’s a testimony about what God is doing through A.C.T.S. nationally:

My name is Charlotte, and an awesome experience has happened to me and I cannot help but to share this passion and experience with everyone affected by Drugs and/or Alcohol.

I was delivered from drugs and filled with the Holy Ghost about 2 years ago, and because Meth has such a strong hold on people in our community I have been asked to share my story of deliverance in several different venues. Including the Washington Times, CNN, ABC World News Tonight and most recently the Partnership for a Drug Free America.

My husband, John and I are now coordinators of our A.C.T.S. Program and are involved in our local jail ministry. We baptized 27 people in the name of Jesus this past year in our local jail. Click here to read Charlotte’s full testimony.

Through the A.C.T.S program, North Cities is reaching adults and young people in the community that are seeking help in their quest for a caring, faith-based drug recovery ministry. Since the beginning of the A.C.T.S program, North Cities has recruited six certified instructors and has been blessed to have several guest speakers minister to the class.

To date, North Cities has ministered to hundreds of young people (ages 13-18) that have participated in the A.C.T.S. Juvenile Program. The North Cities team has served dozens of probation officers in Dallas County. Classes are held on Saturdays at 10:00 AM.
