The Secrets of Prayer

At North Cities, the heart of our mission has always been clear—discipleship starts as soon as our children can comprehend who Jesus is. As they sang, “Jesus is King. Jesus is Lord. Every knee will bow, every tongue confess”—we were reminded that the future of the church is strong in Collin County, Dallas County, across the North Dallas region, and around the world.

But worship led us to something deeper. God is calling every believer in the North Cities community into the secret place of prayer.

Revival Begins in the Secret Place

Psalm 91 declares, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Revival is not just a corporate event; it is deeply individual. We can fill a room for services, but prayer meetings reveal whether we’re truly hungry. The North Dallas revival God has promised will be unlocked only when every disciple chooses the secret place.

Why Prayer Matters

  1. Prayer is knowing God. Theology and history can inform us, but prayer is what transforms us.

  2. Prayer keeps us saved. It’s not only how we are born again, but how we stay aligned with His Spirit.

  3. Prayer opens the supernatural. Every miracle, every healing, every revival fire is sparked in prayer.

  4. Prayer humbles us. It destroys pride and makes room for God’s power.

Paul said in Philippians 3 that everything else is secondary to knowing Christ. Jesus Himself modeled this—40 days in the wilderness prepared the way for Pentecost.

Killing Lions Before Giants

David didn’t face Goliath without first facing lions in private. So it is with us. Private victories precede public victories. The first “lion” we must kill? Laziness.

It’s too easy to be Martha—busy with many things—when God is calling us to be Mary, sitting at His feet. The call to the North Cities community is clear: kill the lion of spiritual apathy, shake off the “blanket demons,” and step into prayer with urgency.

Building With the Right Materials

1 Corinthians 3 warns us about building with wood, hay, and stubble—cheap, shallow, and temporary. Instead, we are called to dig deep for gold, silver, and precious stones—the things that last: prayer, fasting, and sacrificial giving.

  • Prayer cancels pride.

  • Fasting cancels lust.

  • Giving cancels greed.

These are the foundations of a Spirit-filled life in Dallas County, Collin County, and around the world.

Today’s Secret Place, Tomorrow’s Supernatural

Our tomorrow depends on what we hide today. Are we hiding secret sins—or hiding ourselves in the secret place of prayer? Rahab hid the spies and was saved; Achan hid the forbidden and destroyed his family. The difference was what they valued in secret.

Today’s prayers are tomorrow’s power. Today’s fasting is tomorrow’s glory. Today’s submission is tomorrow’s success.

North Cities: A Modern-Day Antioch

Prophecy has declared that North Cities will be a modern-day Antioch—a sending center that equips and releases revival across the North Dallas metroplex and around the world. But Antioch was birthed in prayer and fasting. If we want apostolic authority, signs, and wonders in Plano, Garland, Allen, McKinney, Richardson, and beyond—we must return to the secret place.

Your Call to Action

  • Pray daily. Don’t just attend prayer—become a person of prayer.

  • Fast regularly. Return to the rhythms of the early church.

  • Give sacrificially. Break greed and fund the mission of God.

  • Sit at His feet. Choose Mary’s portion over Martha’s busyness.

When eternity stares us in the face, we won’t be judged on busyness—but on intimacy.

North Dallas revival will not be built on programs, but on prayer.
