God calls us to trust Him beyond our understanding, especially in seasons that don’t make sense or are difficult. Trusting God means surrendering control and allowing Him to guide every step.  Though we may fail along the way, God’s love remains constant, and the process itself builds the endurance we need. Guest Minister, Andy Gregg brings into focus that the process is where God shapes us, deepening our faith.

There are seasons in life when it feels like nothing is happening.

You’re praying, but don’t see results.
You’re being faithful, but nothing seems to be changing.
You’re holding onto a promise, but everything around you looks like the opposite.

In Trust the Process, Andy Gregg brings a powerful and timely message from Proverbs 3:5–6 that speaks directly to those moments. For individuals and families in Garland, TX—and across Murphy, Plano, Richardson, Rowlett, Wylie, and the greater Dallas, Collin, and Rockwall County areas—this is a reminder: just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean God isn’t working.

Trust Starts Where Understanding Ends

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

This passage is familiar—but living it is another story.

Trust Requires Surrender

Trusting God is more than believing He exists. It means placing your confidence fully in Him—even when life doesn’t make sense.

It’s easy to trust God when the outcome is clear. It’s harder when the path feels uncertain. But Scripture is clear: before God directs your path, He asks for your trust.

Don’t Lean on Your Own Understanding

Our natural instinct is to figure everything out. We want timelines, clarity, and control.

But God doesn’t operate on our logic.

There are moments when His promises don’t align with what we see. When that happens, we have a choice: trust what we see or trust what God said.

The Power of the Process

Andy Gregg illustrated this truth through the story of Chinese bamboo.

For years, a farmer waters and nurtures the seed—and nothing happens above ground. Year one, nothing. Year two, nothing. Year three, nothing. Year four, still nothing.

Then in year five, the bamboo shoots up 80 to 90 feet in just a few weeks.

Growth Is Happening Beneath the Surface

Was the bamboo growing only in those few weeks?

No—it was growing the entire time. The roots were developing beneath the surface, preparing for what was coming.

In the same way, God is often working in your life where you cannot see it.

In Garland, TX and surrounding communities, many people are walking through seasons where they feel overlooked or forgotten. But the truth is this: God is developing roots—character, faith, endurance—that will sustain the promise when it comes.

Acknowledge God in Every Step

Proverbs doesn’t just call us to trust—it calls us to acknowledge God.

Invite God Into Every Decision

Acknowledging God is more than recognizing Him—it’s submitting to Him.

It’s not saying, “God, here’s my plan—bless it.”
It’s saying, “God, what is Your plan? I surrender mine.”

That shift changes everything.

Give God Authority, Not Just Attention

Many people give God attention. Few give Him authority.

There’s a difference between knowing God is present and allowing Him to lead.

When you trust the process, you stop trying to control outcomes and start following His direction—even when it’s uncomfortable.

Biblical Examples of the Process

Throughout Scripture, we see a consistent pattern: promise, process, and then fulfillment.

David: Anointed but Not Yet Appointed

David was anointed king in 1 Samuel 16—but didn’t take the throne until 2 Samuel 5. That’s a process of 10–15 years.

In between, he faced betrayal, opposition, hiding, and hardship.

But every step was preparing him.

Joseph: From Pit to Palace

Joseph received a dream from God—but then experienced betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and prison.

Thirteen years passed before the promise came to life.

The pit, the prison, and the pressure were all part of the process.

Daniel: Faithful in the Lions’ Den

Daniel wasn’t in the lions’ den because he failed—he was there because God trusted him.

Sometimes the process isn’t punishment. It’s positioning.

God uses pressure to reveal His power.

Patience Is More Than Waiting

Hebrews 10:36 says, “You have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise.”

Patience Means Endurance Under Pressure

Biblical patience isn’t passive—it’s perseverance.

It means staying faithful when it’s hard.
It means not quitting when it’s uncomfortable.
It means continuing even when nothing makes sense.

In a fast-paced culture across Dallas County, Collin County, and Rockwall County, we’re conditioned to expect quick results. But God works through process, not shortcuts.

When the Process Feels Like a Valley

We all love mountaintop moments—but growth happens in the valley.

It’s in the difficult seasons that God shapes us.

The Process Produces Something in You

The process is not there to destroy you—it’s there to develop you.

It removes self-reliance.
It builds faith.
It teaches obedience.
It produces endurance.

When pressure is applied, what’s inside you is revealed. And God uses that to refine and strengthen you.

Don’t Quit in the Middle

One of the most powerful truths in this message is simple: there is power in not quitting.

The enemy expects you to give up.

But when you decide, “I’m not quitting. I’m not walking away. I’m going to trust God no matter what,” something shifts.

Faith Means Staying When It’s Hard

Trusting the process means:

  • Staying faithful when you feel forgotten
  • Continuing when you feel discouraged
  • Believing when you don’t see results
  • Serving even while you’re waiting

There’s a powerful principle: when God tells you to wait, do what waiters do—serve.

God Is Working Behind the Scenes

Just because you don’t see progress doesn’t mean there isn’t progress.

God is working beneath the surface.

He’s aligning things you can’t see.
He’s building things you don’t yet understand.
He’s preparing you for what He promised.

For those in Garland, TX and surrounding areas who feel stuck or discouraged, hear this clearly: you are not forgotten.

God knows exactly where you are.

Your Next Step: Keep Going

You may be in a season of:

  • Waiting
  • Pruning
  • Pressure
  • Uncertainty
  • Loneliness

But it’s still part of the process.

And God is still present.

So don’t give up.
Don’t walk away.
Don’t let what you see determine what you believe.

Trust the process.

Because after the process… comes the promise.
