They Are Waiting on Us
There’s a world full of people waiting—not on a program or a platform—but on Jesus working through us. Scripture calls us to follow in His steps (1 Peter 2:21) and reminds us that we are the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27). God goes before us and prepares the moments; we simply show up as His hands and feet (Ephesians 2:10).
Recently, coworkers and friends have said the same five words: “I was waiting on you.” A grieving office manager, a teacher battling anxiety, a friend facing a stage-four diagnosis—each moment became an altar because a Spirit-filled believer was willing to stop, pray, and care. Jesus may not walk into your 7-Eleven in the flesh, but He will walk in through you.
The same God who healed in Bible times is still moving today. He comforts the broken, restores hope to the anxious, and answers impossible prayers. Our job isn’t to be spectacular; it’s to be available. When we step out of comfort and into calling, people encounter the living Christ.
Your invitation today: 1) Ask the Lord to open your eyes to the person “waiting on you.” 2) Be quick to pray—right then, right there. 3) Carry the name of Jesus into hallways, classrooms, offices, and neighborhoods.
Prayer:
“Jesus, make me attentive and available. Lead me to the one who’s waiting today. Use my words, my hands, and my faith to bring Your comfort, healing, and hope. Amen.”
