Sometimes the most powerful sermons are not preached from behind a pulpit — they are lived through real people walking through real pain while refusing to let go of God.

At North Cities, we recently heard two powerful Faith Stories from Ezequiel Espino and Doyle Ross. Though neither man coordinated with the other, both testimonies carried the exact same message:

Hold on to God.

For people across Garland, TX, Plano, Murphy, Richardson, Rowlett, Wylie, and throughout Dallas County, Collin County, and Rockwall County, these stories served as a reminder that no matter how difficult life becomes, God remains faithful.

Faith That Holds On in Every Season

Life has a way of testing every person.

There are seasons filled with uncertainty, loss, disappointment, waiting, fear, and hardship. In those moments, people often wonder:

  • “Where is God?”
  • “Why is this happening?”
  • “Will things ever change?”

But both Ezequiel Espino and Doyle Ross shared a truth that every believer eventually discovers:

God Is Still Faithful in the Storm

Faith is not proven when everything is easy. Faith is revealed when life becomes difficult and you still choose to trust God anyway.

Their stories reminded North Cities Church that faith is not about pretending life is perfect. Faith is about continuing to hold on to God even when you do not fully understand what He is doing.

God Works Through Real People

One of the most encouraging parts of Faith Stories is hearing how God moves through ordinary people.

Not perfect people.
Not people with flawless histories.
Not people who have never struggled.

Real people.

Your Story Matters

Ezequiel and Doyle both demonstrated that God can use every season of life — even painful ones — to build testimony, strength, and compassion.

The Bible is filled with stories of imperfect people who simply refused to quit trusting God:

  • Joseph held on through betrayal.
  • David held on through failure.
  • Job held on through suffering.
  • Peter held on after denial.
  • Paul held on through persecution.

And today, God is still writing stories of redemption across Garland and the greater Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Holding On When Life Gets Heavy

Many people throughout DFW are carrying burdens nobody else sees.

Some are battling anxiety.
Some are walking through grief.
Some are facing financial pressure.
Some are praying for prodigal children.
Some are fighting addiction, fear, loneliness, or uncertainty about the future.

The message from these Faith Stories was simple but powerful:

Don’t Let Go of God

Even when prayers seem delayed.
Even when healing takes time.
Even when answers are unclear.
Even when life feels overwhelming.

Hold on to God.

Because God has a way of sustaining people through storms they never thought they could survive.

A Church Built on Real Faith

At North Cities Church, we believe testimonies matter because testimonies build faith.

Revelation 12:11 reminds us that believers overcome “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”

Every testimony becomes proof that:

  • God still heals.
  • God still restores.
  • God still delivers.
  • God still provides.
  • God still changes lives.

Hope for Garland, TX and the Surrounding Communities

Across Garland, Plano, Murphy, Richardson, Rowlett, Wylie, Dallas County, Collin County, and Rockwall County, people are searching for hope and stability in uncertain times.

Faith Stories like these remind us that hope is not found in circumstances — hope is found in Jesus.

And when you hold on to Him, He will never let go of you.

God Is Still Writing Your Story

Maybe you feel like you are in the middle of your own difficult chapter right now.

Maybe you feel weary.
Maybe you feel uncertain.
Maybe you feel forgotten.

But your story is not over.

The same God who carried Ezequiel Espino and Doyle Ross through difficult seasons is the same God walking beside you today.

Keep Trusting God

Keep praying.
Keep worshiping.
Keep believing.
Keep showing up.
Keep holding on.

Because sometimes the greatest miracles happen after the hardest seasons.

And often, the people who impact others the most are the ones who refused to let go of God when life became difficult.
