The Anatomy of a Giant Moment

They say, “The secret to being a saint is being a saint in secret.” The story of David and Goliath is an example of this adage. Israelites and the Philistines were at an impasse on the battlefield. One army was on one mountain; the other, another with a valley in between them. Goliath challenged Israel to send their best man to fight him. For forty days, Goliath taunted Israel’s army. David running an errand for his father hears the challenge. He accepts the challenge with no fear in his heart because he was prepared. Bishop Hargrove explains how preparedness can go a long way when fighting life’s monumental battles.
